Important Notification Of Parking Restrictions At Hill Inn
Published : 23 April 2018
We have been made aware over the weekend that due to concerns about the large number of spectators associated with The Three Peaks Race which is also taking place on Saturday, the council are placing parking restrictions on the roads at both Hill Inn and Ribblehead. Of course, Ribblehead has no implications for our event and we are not in general overwhelmed with spectators on the Fellsman (and those we do have tend to head for later checkpoints where they feel their loved ones competing need the additional support of seeing a friendly face), however we thought it better to let you know that there will be no parking in the immediate vicinity of the Hill Inn checkpoint on Saturday.
The parking restrictions will have no impact on the running of our checkpoint as all our vehicles park off-road with the permission of the landowner. Please see the map below for details of the extent of the restrictions in the area surrounding Hill Inn which include both the parking lay-bys on Low Sleights Road (B6255) and the bottom section of Philpin Lane. We ask that anyone considering spectating avoid doing so at Hill Inn, and that if you decide to, please ensure that you park outside the restricted area, legally and safely, and without obstructing the road or gateways.
Update 24/04/2018 – Please be aware that we have now been informed that the parking restriction in fact runs from Hill Inn right along the B6255 as far as Ribblehead.
